I recently had a very stupid debate with a moron that insisted Jesus was a socialist like himself. I know that if this tool was saying it there must be other morons like himself so I decided to write this blog.
He said that Jesus was a socialist because he fed 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread. Since the bible wasn’t written literally but in Jewish Exegesis it can’t be interpreted literally. In Matt. 4:4, Jesus says, “Man must not live on bread alone but on every utterance coming forth from God.” This shows a connection between Torah and bread.
Elijah performed a miracle of multiplying bread and oil so a widow wouldn’t starve. Elisha fed 100 people with 20 barley loaves and Moses fed the Israelites in the wilderness with manna. The meaning of the 5 loaves most likely represents the Pentateuch, the first 5 books of the Bible known as the Torah. The Miracle shows that Jesus was going to expand on the Torah while remaining faithful to it and his miracle was blessed by God for that reason. Can you name a single time that Socialism has ever provided for people in this way? It hasn’t. People starve and they die. Furthermore, the food was provided so that they could stay and learn what Jesus was teaching.
The idiot then proceeded to say that Jesus was a revolutionary because he said, “If you don’t already have a sword sell your cloak and buy one.” Was 2 swords enough for a violent revolution? No, it was enough for self defense. Jesus also healed the ear of the Roman that Peter cut off.
The Himations that Jesus spoke of were the garment of Logic and Reason, which is why Cicero said, “Cedante arma togae”. The Himations were a religious and philosophical clothing, Jesus was saying that Logic and Reason had failed.
It is also important to note that the Pharisees wanted a violent revolution with Rome which is why they rejected the Christ as their Messiah. Jesus instructed his disciples to seek out the lost sheep of Israel. He was trying to get them to drop out of the Pharisaical scheme against the Romans that did nothing to benefit the Jews.
Lastly the fool said that when Jesus healed people that was the same as free healthcare. Jesus healed people to fulfill prophecy, to show that he had the blessing of God. He also separated Church from State saying, “pay back Caesar’s things to Caesar but God’s things to God.” The state is not God and it can’t heal everybody like Jesus did.
