When I was 16 I started studying Mnemonics. I read every book I could find on the subject and I practiced them until I had a migraine. I dreamed about one day revolutionizing education by creating memory pegs that make things harder to forget than to remember. More recently I studied every logical fallacy and cognitive bias and read everything I could on cognitive psychology. I studied the newest psychological sciences.
I created Shared State Law of Communication. To give you an example that Letter “A” means the same to me as it does to you because we shared similar states of education. The word cat means the same to me as it does to you because we shared the same “States”. It creates a medium through which we can communicate and relate to one another. Because of these Shared States we can communicate ideas to one another.
I think that we should have the best teachers with the best results on teaching certain subjects collaborate and create videos that teach the subject that they specialize in. I think these videos should be online in a single website. I think they should be made available to everybody regardless of age. I think that Charter Schools should be allowed to use them. I think that Home Schooled should be allowed to use them. I think that States should have the right to determine if their schools will participate and to what degree they will participate. If the states refuse to participate, I think parents and charter schools should have the Authority to over ride the State. I think that people should be able to determine if they want their scores to be public or not.
This would allow children to compete with each other on the National Level. It would prevent Older Illegal Immigrants from having to be in the same classroom with people much younger than themselves. It would prevent teachers from indoctrinating children and it would allow a transparency into exactly what our children are being taught.
I downloaded entire semesters of college classes from iTunes University. You would be amazed what I learned from the Audio alone. Some children actually like to learn and they have a learning fetish. These children will seek each other out and compete with each other to their Mutual Benefit. Why aren’t we BENCHMARKING Best Practices in Teaching??? Two teachers can teach the exact same subject matter but one of the teachers can be turning children off with their attitude. One teacher can be Telegraphing to children that the subject matter is boring or uninteresting through the tone of their voice or their body language. The other teacher communicates that the subject matter is interesting and fun.
Oh, and one more thing. Every school should teach civics and you should coordinate with Professor Richard Dreyfuss on the best way to go about that. I am also of the opinion that children should be exposed to elements of Logic in Rational Debate and Psychology at much younger ages. If children knew how to recognize irrational behavior they would grow up making better choices in their relationships and knowing how to recognize irrational behavior. I think that principles of using the Abacus should be taught at a young age. The reason for this is that China produced more math geniuses per capita by far than most other Nations. It is said that when people grow up using the Abacus they can visualize it in their heads and work out complex mathematical formula without the help of calculators.
